 Edwina Froehlich January 5, 1915 - June 8, 2008 Breastfeeding pioneer, Edwina Froelich died on Sunday, June 8, 2008. In 1956, Edwina along with six other women founded La Leche League International, a non-profit organization that provides breastfeeding support, education, and groups around the world. Edwina was also a co-author of The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, a well known breastfeeding resource that has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. She is survived by her three sons.
