| Breastfeeding and Jury Duty |

As the public gains greater recognition and respect for the value of breastfeeding babies, more states will enact laws to protect the breastfeeding relationship. Unfortunately in recent years only a few states had passed laws exempting breastfeeding mothers from serving jury duty. Twelve states currently exempt breastfeeding mothers from jury duty they include California, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon and Virginia.
